The ODSL Piranhas are a developmentally competitive program designed to teach proper techniques, principles of good sportsmanship, and team spirit. Our main goal is to provide each swimmer a fun and successful summer swim team experience while fostering a love for the sport of swimming. We teach each swimmer skills that promote life-long fitness.

The ODSL is comprised of over 24 teams in Loudoun County. Our team will swim 6 - 8 of these teams on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings from mid- June through Mid July.

Your swimmer has the opportunity to swim in as many of these meets as they choose.  All swimmers are eligablefor all meets, and entry is not based on swimmer performance. Our goal is to help them improve as much as possible as the season progresses, so we encourage them to swim in as many meets as they desire. The same philosophy applies to practices. We encourage each swimmer to attend as many practices as they can (the best way to improve is to practice!), but understand that family vacations, camps or other obligations may cause the swimmer to miss some. The swim season concludes with league Championship and All-Star meets.

We are thrilled to have Coach Shannon McConagha returning as our 2010 Head Coach! Shannon is excited to be back for her fourth year coaching the ODSL BroadlandsPiranhas. Shannon has coached many levels including senior level withCurl Burke, age group level with Solotar Swim Team, Masters/Triathletes at Ashburn Village, and collegiately withUniversity of Mary Washington. She has coached summer swim teams in both the NVSL and CSL. She is a Northern Virginia native, swimming locally for Arlington Aquatic Club and Dominion Hills. Shannon was an NCAA qualifier and All American Swimmer at the University of Mary Washington. She has completed two Masters Degrees in Education and Sports Medicine. She and her husband Marty have two children, Cameron-9, and Mackenzie-7.
